Beef cattle farmer, Condingup WA

Katanka Pty Ltd is looking for a full-time beef cattle farmer to manage cattle breeding and production across two properties near Condingup.

What you will do:

• Plan and oversee beef cattle breeding, calving, weaning and herd movements
• Manage herd health, animal welfare, grazing, feed and water
• Inspect cattle for health issues, arrange veterinary care and implement biosecurity
• Assess pasture and organise grazing rotations and supplementary feeding
• Complete livestock and water checks, including three scheduled runs per week
• Inspect and maintain fences, yards, pumps and troughs
• Operate farm machinery and coordinate maintenance
• Keep herd, health, production and expenditure records

What you need:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in agriculture, animal science or livestock production, or at least five years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of beef cattle breeding, husbandry, nutrition, health and welfare
• Ability to plan grazing and feeding programs and manage livestock water
• Experience operating agricultural equipment and maintaining farm infrastructure
• Knowledge of biosecurity, livestock identification and workplace health and safety
• Ability to work independently in remote conditions and respond to urgent animal welfare issues

The role is full-time and permanent. Salary is AUD $120,000 – $140,000 plus superannuation.
