Agri Labour Australia is recruiting 10 orchard assistants for an almond farm near Darlington Point. Work starts January 2027 and runs for 9 months.
The work
You will work outdoors in the orchard, doing a mix of tasks:
- Machine operation, setting and maintenance
- Irrigation work
- Pruning trees to improve light and spray access
- Weed removal and spraying
- Pest and disease identification
- Harvest work
What you need
- Physically fit and comfortable with heavy labour
- Happy to work in all weather: hot, cold, rain, sun
- No asthma or dust allergies
- Good communication and able to follow instructions
- Comfortable working unsupervised with initiative
- Team player, happy in a multicultural workplace
Pay and hours
$36.52 per hour under the Agri Labour Australia Horticulture Agreement 2016. You will be offered at least 120 hours of work every 4 weeks. Pay rates will increase with Fair Work Commission annual reviews and National Minimum Wage changes.
