Doheny Pty Ltd is a family-owned broadacre cropping business near Kellerberrin, Western Australia. They operate about 5,000 hectares using modern farming systems and well-maintained equipment.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Farm Hand to manage and supervise broadacre crop production. You will coordinate daily farm activities, supervise other farm workers, and operate agricultural machinery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and supervise crop production, including paddock preparation, seeding, spraying, fertilising, harvesting and post-harvest work
  • Plan and coordinate daily cropping activities and machinery requirements
  • Organise, train and supervise permanent, seasonal and casual farm workers
  • Operate tractors, seeding machinery, spraying equipment, headers and other broadacre machinery
  • Inspect, service and maintain agricultural machinery and equipment
  • Operate GPS-guided machinery and precision farming technology
  • Monitor crop conditions and operational performance
  • Oversee farm infrastructure including sheds, silos, fencing and water systems
  • Maintain accurate records of spraying, chemicals, inputs, yields and weather
  • Ensure all activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements

You will need:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in broadacre cropping operations
  • Strong practical knowledge of seeding, spraying, fertilising and harvesting
  • Extensive experience operating broadacre agricultural machinery
  • Experience supervising or coordinating farm workers
  • Good mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Current ChemCert accreditation or willingness to obtain it
  • HC or MC driver’s licence desirable, or willingness to obtain
