Cooroo Bananas Pty Ltd is hiring fruit farm workers and senior fruit farm workers for permanent positions at their farms in Far North Queensland.

What you will do:

• Monitor crop health and inspect bananas and other tropical fruits for issues
• Operate machinery including cherry pickers, bagging machines, tractors, and irrigation systems
• Apply coloured stickers to banana bunches to track maturity and size
• Plant seedlings, irrigate fields, prune trees, and mulch soil
• Spray chemicals and organic alternatives to control weeds, pests, and diseases
• Pick, grade, sort, and pack produce to quality standards
• Load containers onto trucks for transport
• Keep daily production records and prepare reports on crop yields and incidents
• Stock supplies including fertilisers, pesticides, and tools
• For senior roles: supervise junior workers, oversee equipment maintenance, and coordinate team schedules

What we are looking for:

• Relevant farming experience and a positive attitude to agricultural work
• Physical fitness to lift and carry loads of 25-35kg repeatedly and work in hot, humid, or rainy conditions
• Basic knowledge of horticultural techniques, pest identification, and disease control
• Valid driver’s licence preferred, with farm machinery experience an advantage
• For senior roles: proven supervisory experience and strong leadership skills
• Commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices
• Australian citizens, permanent residents, or those with appropriate work rights
