Yornaning Farms is looking for an experienced Senior Piggery Stockperson to manage their pig operation in Yornaning, Western Australia.
What you will do:
- Oversee daily piggery activities and supervise staff
- Care for pigs, including feeding, watering and health checks
- Manage breeding and selection of stock
- Collect and record data for stock control and trials
- Handle artificial insemination and animal mating
- Assist with birthing and post-mortem examinations
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity and safety requirements
- Mentor less experienced stockpersons
What you need:
- AQF Certificate III in Agriculture (Pig Production) or equivalent, plus 3 years recent piggery experience, OR 5 years recent piggery experience in a medium to large-scale operation
- Proven ability to supervise staff
- Strong knowledge of livestock health, breeding and nutrition
- Ability to keep accurate records and follow biosecurity procedures
- Commitment to animal welfare and farm safety
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
