About this job

Ringer Reef is a small, family-run vineyard, winery and cellar door in Porepunkah, near Bright in north-east Victoria. We are looking for a reliable, practical and hard-working person to join our team in a varied, hands-on casual role.

Work is available from October 2026 to June 2027. Ideally, we would like someone who can stay for most or all of this period, although we will consider the right person who is available for part of the season.

The role is expected to provide approximately 20 hours per week, usually spread across five days. Hours may vary according to seasonal workloads and business needs, with additional hours potentially available during vintage and other peak periods.

You will be welcomed and respected as an important part of our small team, which is mostly made up of family members, and paid weekly in accordance with the Wine Industry Award. The working hours leave plenty of free time to enjoy living in one of Australia’s most beautiful mountain regions, with Bright, the rivers, rail trails and national parks close by.

This is a genuine all-rounder position, with work spread across different parts of the business.

Duties may include:

* Daily cleaning of the cellar-door building
* Maintenance of the grounds and outdoor areas
* Assisting with cellar-door and hospitality service
* Vineyard work, including shoot thinning, leaf plucking, lifting wires and harvesting grapes
* Assisting in other areas of the business as reasonably required

Hospitality experience would be an advantage, but this is not solely a hospitality position. Applicants need to be comfortable moving between cleaning, grounds maintenance, customer service and seasonal vineyard work.

The person we are looking for will:

* Be able to understand and follow workplace and safety instructions in English
* Have strong spoken English and communicate confidently with customers and our team
* Be reliable and punctual
* Maintain a steady and productive work rate
* Notice what needs doing and be willing to help
* Be comfortable with cleaning, outdoor work and practical, hands-on tasks
* Work well independently and as part of a small team
* Be flexible when hours increase during busy periods
* Hold valid Australian working rights

This role suits someone who takes pride in working steadily, reliably and making good use of the hours available. Hours will vary with business needs, seasonal workloads and satisfactory performance.

This advertisement is for one available position. We are unable to offer an additional job to a partner, friend or travelling companion.

Applicants will need to arrange their own accommodation. While we cannot provide housing, we are happy to point the successful applicant towards local places and services that may help with their search.

This role includes vineyard duties that may qualify as specified work for eligible Working Holiday visa holders. It also includes cleaning, grounds and customer-service duties that may not qualify. This is not a guaranteed 88-day placement, and applicants are responsible for checking which duties and working days meet the requirements of their visa subclass.

To apply, please provide:

* A CV showing your full employment history
* Contact details for at least two referees
* Your proposed starting and finishing dates
* Details of your Australian working rights
* Confirmation of whether you have reliable transport

Tell us what is wrong and we will look at it. If a job asks you for money, it is not a real job. Never pay to get work.
