The City of Gold Coast is after Horticulturists to join the Open Space Maintenance team, based at the Coombabah Depot. You’ll help maintain and improve parks, landscaped and recreational spaces across the City’s open space areas and road network.

Full time, 9-day fortnight, 36 hours. Pay is $2,491.72 to $2,725.44 per fortnight, excluding allowances, plus super. Applicants are appointed between Level 2 and Level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – Operational, based on qualifications, skills and experience.

**What you’ll do:**
– Planting, pruning, mulching, hedging and removing green waste
– Spraying herbicides and weed removal
– Operating equipment like leaf blowers, chainsaws and pole saws
– Following set work practices and delivering high quality work
– Contributing to a positive team

**What we’re after:**
– Cert II in Horticulture, Conservation & Landcare Management, Arboriculture or related, OR at least 1 year industry experience
– MR Class driver’s licence (mandatory)
– General Construction Induction White Card (mandatory)
– A team player with strong communication
– Motivation and initiative, able to work unsupervised
– Sound physical health for demanding outdoor work
