Experienced Farm Hand – Cattle & Mixed Farming (NSW)

Watershed Farm & Bowness Stud is seeking a competent and reliable farm hand with solid cattle station and farming experience to join our cattle breeding and rearing plus mixed farming enterprise.

This role is suited to a practical, capable individual looking for a stable, long term position within a professionally run operation.
Not suitable for couples. No dogs or horses permitted, as the accommodation and many duties are located on an intensive thoroughbred horse stud.

Responsibilities:
Cattle mustering and yard work (side-by-side, vehicle and bikes)
Assisting with breeding and rearing programs
Monitoring, maintaining and distributing stock feed, feed mixes and watering systems
Fence and infrastructure maintenance
Tractor, truck and machinery operation – cropping, spraying, slashing, sowing and harvest duties
Horse and cattle feeding and general farm duties

Essential Experience:
Demonstrated cattle handling and mustering experience
Confident and capable, safe operation of tractors, trucks, side-by-sides, bikes and manual vehicles
Practical farm and machinery maintenance skills and mechanical awareness
Ability to work independently, take responsibility and follow direction
Applicants must be physically capable, reliable and accustomed to rural work expectations.

Equine experience and general horse awareness would be an advantage, as work is often undertaken around thoroughbred horses and requires good judgement and sensible stock handling practices.

Ideally suited for someone looking for at least 12 months work (not short term for WHV purposes). Visa sponsorship may be an option for a long term candidate.
