About this job

CONNECT GROUP is hiring up to 200 workers for banana picking in the Tully region, Far North Queensland. This is contract work offered through an agency.

The work:

  • Cutting, boxing and hauling 50kg+ bunches of bananas
  • Slashing and general farm cleaning and maintenance
  • Intensively manual and physical, with constant heavy lifting and bending
  • Use of farm machinery
  • Work outdoors in hot, humid conditions
  • Starting around 6am with long hours
  • Occasional 6-day shifts
  • May work weekends and public holidays as needed

What you need:

  • Your own transport (essential – properties are out of town with no public transport)
  • Ability to travel to or live in the Tully area
  • 5-day minimum availability
  • Physical fitness for heavy manual work
  • Ability to work quickly and carefully to a high standard
  • Compliance with company QA and OH&S requirements

Duration and pay:

Approximately 6-9 months starting November 2026. Paid under the Modern Horticultural Award 2020 on a casual hourly basis.
