Chahal Bananas is looking for fruit farm workers at their plantation in Utchee Creek. This is a permanent full-time role.

What you will do:

• Patrol and inspect banana plantations, checking plant health and reporting pests or disease
• Plant banana suckers and tissue-cultured plantlets
• Prepare soil, maintain plants, remove excess growth, and weed
• Spray plants with pesticides, fungicides and herbicides
• Operate water and irrigation systems
• Support banana bunches with props and protective structures
• Bag and harvest banana bunches at the right maturity
• Wash, grade, sort and pack bananas into cartons
• Maintain farm infrastructure, equipment and packing sheds
• Operate farm machinery and data collection systems
• Follow biosecurity and hygiene protocols

What you need:

• At least one year of experience in a relevant field
• Ability to do physically demanding work outdoors in all weather
• Willingness to operate farm machinery and hand tools (training provided)
• Basic understanding of safe work practices (full WHS training on site)
