Casual Farm Hand Lemon Myrtle Farm
About this job
We’re after a reliable casual farm hand for a small working lemon myrtle and aniseed myrtle farm at Backmede, near Casino and Lismore.
This is hands-on, varied work. The farm mainly grows lemon myrtle, which gets harvested, dried, processed, and supplied for herbal tea. You’ll get stuck into a bit of everything.
The work covers:
– Harvesting lemon myrtle and aniseed myrtle
– Loading harvested plant material into drying containers
– Drying, sorting, and processing dried leaf
– Mowing, whipper-snipping, weeding, and general clean-up
– Helping bring parts of the farm back up to standard
– General farm maintenance and outdoor work
It’s casual, around 3 days a week, Monday to Friday. Hours can swing between 2 and 4 days depending on weather, harvest timing, and farm priorities. Pay is $32 to $35 per hour plus super, based on experience.
**What we want:**
– Reliable, turns up when agreed
– Physically fit and happy with outdoor work
– Practical, positive, follows instructions
– Easy to work with in a small team
– Works safely and uses common sense
Farm, landscaping, gardening, machinery, or labouring experience is a plus, but not essential for the right person. You’ll need your own reliable transport, there’s no public transport out here.
This can suit a local after steady casual work, or someone on a working holiday visa chasing eligible farm work, depending on your visa conditions and tasks. Immediate start available.
