Plant Nursery Attendant

Greening Australia needs several Nursery Attendants at its West Coolup nursery in the Peel Region, WA. Casual, 3 to 4 month contract starting in June, Monday to Friday. Pay is $30 to $35 an hour. The plants you grow go into real ecological restoration projects in the region.
This is hands-on outdoor work. It suits someone who likes practical work, has an interest in plants, and takes pride in keeping things tidy and running well. You’ll work under the Nursery Manager across all parts of nursery work.
**What you’ll be doing**
– Seed prep, sowing and potting
– Watering, fertilising and general plant care
– Monitoring plant health and reporting issues
– Transplanting and moving plants around the nursery
– Preparing plants for dispatch and receiving deliveries
– Keeping the nursery clean and organised
– Helping with irrigation, shade structures and growing areas
– Cleaning and maintaining tools, organising stock
– Following WHS procedures and reporting hazards
**What you’ll need**
– You like practical, hands-on outdoor work (it’s physical)
– An interest in plants, horticulture or environmental work
– Good in a team and happy to follow direction
– Care, pride and attention to detail
Nice to have, but not essential: nursery or horticulture experience, a horticulture or environmental qualification, and familiarity with native plants.
