About Us:

Narrangullen is a family-owned livestock enterprise located 40 minutes from Yass and one hour from Canberra. The property runs 15,000 sheep (including 7,000 self-replacing Merino ewes and 2,000 Composite ewes) and a 1,000-head Angus cattle herd across 16,000 acres of mixed pastures and cropping.

The property features modern livestock handling facilities, including a Te Pari sheep handling system, multiple satellite sheep yards, and undercover cattle working facilities.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Overseer to assist with livestock operations, property maintenance, and day-to-day management decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

– Livestock handling, mustering, weaning, and animal health programs
– Fencing, water systems, and general property maintenance
– Recording livestock data using systems such as NLIS and AgriWebb
– Tractor and machinery operation, including planting, spraying, and cultivation
– Supporting safe work practices and WHS compliance
– Assisting the Manager with operational planning and decision-making

About You:

You are passionate about livestock production, animal welfare, and working dogs.

Requirements:

– 5+ years’ livestock experience
– Strong stockmanship and animal welfare focus
– Experience with fencing, water systems, and general maintenance
– Current driver’s licence
– Ability to use or learn farm management technology
– Strong communication skills and initiative
– Own working dog required
– Horse experience desirable but not essential
